The winemaking centre of Argentina, the land of Malbec, is located in the heart of Mendoza. The combination of Malbec and Mendoza is sure to guarantee the highest-quality wines of the country.
Terrazas de Los Andes is situated in the foothills of the Andes at the winemaking heart of Argentina, Mendoza, where their primary variety is Malbec.
The current winery was built in 1898 by Sotero Arizu, one of the pioneers in the production and commercialisation of Argentinian wines. The year 1960 brought about big changes in winemaking in Argentina when Moët & Chandon opened its first subsidiary in Mendoza, being the first ever French winery to invest in Latin America. The main building of the old winery was renovated and Terrazas de Los Andes was established in 1996. 
Currently, the winery has eight vineyards planted at various altitudes between 980 metres and 1,250 metres above sea level. The oldest vineyard that is still in use was planted in 1929. Their signature variety is Malbec which was brought to Argentina from France in 1850, their other varieties include Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, and Chardonnay.
‘We are vineyard specialists first, then winemakers’– that is the philosophy of the team of Terrazas de Los Andes. The quality of their wines depends 95% on the characteristics of the raw material, and it is the winemaker’s duty to bring out the purest expression of terroir in the wines.
Difficult natural conditions – the high-altitude climate, cold nights, low rainfall, and lack of organic elements in the ground – force vines to grow their roots deep in the ground, resulting in vivid, intense flavoured wines.
