Ribeiro Santo was created in 1994 with a goal to produce personalized wines. It is a property of historical value, formerly owned by a local priest, surrounded by a river, which also inspired winemakers to call the new winery Ribeiro Santo, which means “Holy River”.
The vineyards are home to the region’s local vine varieties: Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro, Tinto Cão and Encruzado.
The wines of the Dão region are heavily influenced by the soil, which is very rich in granite. The vineyards are surrounded by pine forests, eucalyptus trees and oaks.
Wine master Carlos Lucas has said: “Each bottle of wine reflects our passion, emotions and our dedication”.
